Terms of use

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Able Gear is a free service that lets people post and find disability-related equipment. By using the site you agree to these terms. This is a plain-language starting point and not legal advice.

Using Able Gear

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting a listing, you grant Able Gear a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content on the site while your listing is active and for a short period afterward for backups. You confirm you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

What you may not post

Moderation

We may remove any listing, hide reported listings, and refuse service at our discretion, to keep the community safe. Listings expire after 60 days unless renewed.

Able Gear does not verify the safety, condition, or regulatory status of any item. Buyers are responsible for confirming an item is safe and legal for their use.

No warranty and limited liability

Able Gear is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Able Gear and Able Canada are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from any listing, or from any transaction or meeting between users. You use the site and meet other users at your own risk. Please follow our safety tips. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to CAD $100.

You agree to indemnify Able Gear, Able Canada, and its operators and volunteers against any claim or cost, including legal fees, arising from your listings, your conduct, your dealings with other users, or your breach of these terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy policy explains what limited information we collect and how contact between buyers and sellers is kept private.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except for any rights you cannot waive under the consumer protection laws of your home province or territory.
